It is an online directory of all the businesses associated with the HRCC East Rockingham Business Council

2. What is the purpose of the business directory?

The purpose of the directory is to increase your business! It is a fact that more and more people search for services and products online. If your business is not online, they wont find you.

3. How does it work?

Your business name, address and a short description are listed on search engine friendly pages in the business directory. When someone does a keyword search in a major search engine, such as Google, they are more likely to find you. For example, someone may search for “restaurants in Elkton”. Since your listing has these keywords in it, the search engine will return your listing in the results.

4. What does it cost to be listed in the Business Directory?

It costs nothing to be listed in the East Rockingham Business Directory.

5. How do I activate my listing in the Business Directory?

All the business listings we received from the town of Elkton are now active. New listings will be activated once an erockbiz.com manager approves your listing.

6  I am not listed, but want to add my listing to the directory, how do I do this?

If you are an Elkton business, you may already have a listing. Search the directory for your business; if you are there, we will mail your user id and password to you. With this information you can login and modify your listing. If you are not listed, simply create an account, and create your listing. You will be contacted to let you know when your listing is approved.

7. What other features are available on the business directory?

There are two additional features on the East Rockingham Business Directory that you can take advantage of; featured listings and banner advertisements.

8. What is a featured listing?

A featured listing allows you to create one page in the business directory with as much content on it as you wish about your business. Think of it as a mini web page. You can subscribe to a featured listing page for $60.00 per year.

9. What is a banner ad?

A banner ad rotates on the front page of the business directory and allows you to increase your level of advertising on the web. You can subscribe to a banner ad for $96.00 per year. This fee includes one hour of graphic design on your banner ad.

10. How else can I use the Internet to increase my business?

There are several things you can do on the Internet to increase your business.

1. Sign up for Google local. Google local is a free service of Google that allows you to register your business. You can register yourself by visiting

2. You can ask friends and colleagues with websites to list your business on their website’s “links” page. This is a practice called reciprocal linking and it helps improve your ranking in search engines. They can link to your listing in the business directory.

11. What if I already have a web page?

If you have a web page you should still keep your listing in the East Rockingham Business Directory up to date and consider using the advanced features to link your listing back to your main website. Having references to your main site helps improve the ranking of your website in major search engines.

You may also want to have Extreme Exposure Media do a free business analysis of your current web page to make sure you are maximizing your ability to attract business to your website.

12. Why do I have to pay for feature listings and banner ads?

Extreme Exposure Media donated about $3,400.00 worth of graphic design, web development and programming services in order to get the East Rockingham Business Directory up and running. The directory is free for all east Rockingham businesses. However, for those of you who want to increase your online advertising we wanted to give you the ability to do that. Unfortunately, Extreme Exposure Media is not in the position to individually help all 150 businesses in the directory setup featured listings and banner ads for free. The fees for the additional features are basically to cover the cost of helping provide the service. The fees represent an exceptional value! Our local competitors are charging between $600.00 to several thousand dollars per year for the same type of service.
